Press Release - Luxembourg Award Winners

May 11th, 2012

For the second time in a row, EuroCloud Luxembourg is proud to uncover the winners of its Awards competition in the following categories: Best Start Up, Best Cloud Service Product, Best Case Study Example of Cloud Services for the Private Sector and Best Case Study Example of Cloud Services for Public Sector.

The awards ceremony took place last night, at the heart of the Abbaye de Neumünster, during the “Golden-i 2012” event, organized by ITnation. More than 500 people from the ICT industry in Luxembourg attended the event.

All the winners of the EuroCloud Luxembourg Awards competition will be able to participate to the pan-European Cloud Computing Awards, organised this year in Luxembourg on the evening of October 8th. This ceremony will gather the winners from all the national competitions carried out throughout Europe and will take place during the EuroCloud European Congress on October 8-9, 2012.
The jury was chaired by Marc Lemmer, CEO of CRP Henri Tudor, and composed of key experts from the ICT field: Amal Choury (EuroCloud Luxembourg), Jean Diederich (APSI), Jean-Paul Hengen (Luxinnovation), Tom Kettels (SMC), Laurent Cornet (IBM) and Romain Lanners (Fedil).

The EuroCloud Luxembourg Award for the Best Start-up goes to EZC Group with YobiDrive, an innovative and e-safe interpretation of the file sharing services (DropBox, FTopia …) and of the underlying cloud storage (Amazon S3), which perfectly matches the Luxembourg «safe cloud» ambitions.

The EuroCloud Luxembourg Award in the Best Cloud Service Product category goes to LEARCH with their e-Archiving as a Service project. The solution is based on the integration and interconnection of services that share the same value chain in Europe, thus creating a transversal platform. Besides, its operating way answers to the different legal and regulatory customers’ environments

The EuroCloud Luxembourg Award in the Best Case Study Example of Cloud Services for the Private Sector has been delivered to Telindus with their success story – CDCL (Compagnie De Construction Luxembourgeoise). Thanks to a solution with no investment, “U-flex &U-nify”, based on a “pay as you grow” model, Telindus was the perfect choice, bringing flexibility, accessibility, security and modernity.

The EuroCloud Luxembourg Award for the Best Case Study Example of Cloud Services for the Public Sector goes to Kitry with the CRTI-web platform, allowing the construction sector to evolve towards information and communication technologies. Two main modules have been developed: reporting (commentaries and search facilitation) and documents’ exchange. This cooperative and interactive solution can be used and customised to all the construction sector’s professionals.

Amal Choury, President of EuroCloud Luxembourg, comments “This year again, we were impressed by the number and the quality of submissions we received. This definitively confirms the dynamism and the aspiration for excellence of the cloud computing technologies and SaaS sector in Luxembourg. I see it also as a motivation to implement the recommendation contained in the action plan which EuroCloud Luxembourg, in partnership with the Centre Tudor, presented in March 2012 to the Government officials”.

Marc Lemmer adds, “I would like to thank all the companies that have submitted an application and can ensure that we are looking forward to see the performance of our national winners at the European level”.
